Club 5082 - Payinthi (Prospect Town Hall)
Together these 2 amazing acts perform live on stage presenting some of the most iconic gospel blues tunes of the ages, including artists such as Blind Willie Johnson, Big Bill Broozny, Mavis Staples, Skip James and Mississippi John Hurt.
Kings and Associates, 3 times Australian Blues Music Award winners, have been touring nationally and internationally for 5 years featuring at many of the premier Australian music festivals, such as Broadbeach, Womadelaide, Wangaratta, Mitchell Creek, Blenheim, Bruthern, Eltham and Mordialloc. The Kings’ breakout year came in 2019 where they toured the US to perform at a series of major festivals with artists such as Buddy Guy, Kingfish Ingram, and Trombone Shorty.
Like most acts Covid halted their touring, but now, under the US label Color-Red, the band is about to jump back on the road in support of the recently released album Neighbour. As with their previous award winning album Tales of a Rich Girl, Neighbour was tracked and produced by 6 x Grammy winner Jim Scott during the 2019 tour in LA.
Nikko & Snooks are an institution having been performing as a duo for 10 years. The combination of 2 extraordinary vocalists, along with Nikko’s incredible guitar playing, and Snooks’s gut driven harp has created a truly unique sound that has captivated audiences across the globe.
TAKE ME TO THE RIVER it is without question a performance that inspires from within, and leaves audiences feeling as if they’ve had a ‘religious experience’! This event is proudly presented by City of Prospect in partnership with Adelaide Roots & Blues Association (ARBA). Tickets are $20 each from Eventbrite and include a complimentary drink from the bar. Secure your tix today as this show will sell out!
