Early Sunday morning (Adelaide time) The Honey Badgers (pictured above and below), representing the Adelaide Roots & Blues Association, became only the second Australian band in the 38 years of the event's history to play in the Finals of the International Blues Challenge, joining the illustrious company of legendary Melbourne blues band Collard Greens & Gravy! They finished unplaced in the Final, but what an amazing ride! They have worked extremely hard, firstly to win the Memphis Blues Challenge and then in preparation for the International Blues Challenge and making the Finals is a fitting and thoroughly deserved result!
Congratulations to all of the Badgers: Peter Hollows, Peter Nixon, Peter Allan, Nigel Bourne, Geo Heathcoate and Tim Frears. You are legends and we are very proud of you!
Frank Sultana, representing the Sydney Blues Society won first place in the solo/duo category of International Blues Challenge! Congratulations to Frank and the SBS! Brilliant to see an Australian win this! Frank joins Australian blues greats Fiona Boyes and Jimi Hocking, who have previously achieved this result.
Frankie & Savva, our solo/duo representatives at this Year's International Blues Challenge performed in their two quarter finals but did not progress to the semi-finals. We know that they worked very hard in preparation for the IBC and they acquitted themselves in a manner that reflects well on themselves and the association and we thank them for being such fine representatives.

PHEW! we are still catching our breath after The Honey Badgers made their historic appearance in the Finals of the 2023 International Blues Challenge in Memphis!
IT'S TIME TO DO IT ALL AGAIN!
This is your chance to compete for a place at The 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis!
Places are limited. Should the number of acts exceed the limit in each category, entrance into the Challenge will be determined by the order that entry applications were received in each category.
